Depending on the needs and interest, the Institute for Tourism organizes and conducts seminars and workshops dealing with the following issues:

- Culture Tourism
- Wine Tourism
- Promotion of Tourist Destinations
- Use of the BIST system.

Seminars in cooperation with other institutions
The Institute for Tourism uses different modalities of cooperation with other institutions to design, organize and conduct seminars dealing with the following issues:
Culture Tourism
The Office for Culture Tourism of the Croatian Tourist Board has commissioned the following comprehensive plan of education, which has been designed by the institute:
- Link between culture and tourism
- Who’s who and what do they do in culture tourism?
- Organization of cultural and tourist events (3)
- From a cultural resource to a cultural and tourist attraction (4)
- Interpretation: How to identify and tell a story?
- Managing interest groups: how does one make key institutions and individuals cooperate?
- Promotion and distribution of cultural and tourism products (7)
- How do we know whether we are on the right track? Ask your guests and listen to what they have to say
- Culture festivals as tourist attractions (9)
- Culture routes as tourist attractions (10)
Lectures on topics marked with (3), (4), (7), (9) and (10) are given by lecturer(s) from the Institute for Tourism.
Rural Tourism
The Institute for Tourism has prepared seminars on different topics designed to promote and upgrade rural tourism. The seminars are organized and implemented in cooperation with local tourist boards.
The seminar topics are as follows:
- How to be a host on one’s own rural property (farm)
- What are possible choices and schedules of daily activities for guests staying on a farm?
- Harmonizing the profile of farm guests with the profile of the farm offer
- Owners of family farms and winemakers
- Education in rural tourism
- Rural tourism incentives
- The value of tourism and incentives for tourism entrepreneurs
Family and small hotels
Seminars are organized in cooperation with OMH – The Association of Family and Small Hotels, in accordance with the needs of OMH members. The following seminars were held in 2006 and 2007.
(New) channels of distribution, promotion and sales of family and small hotels.
Seminars organized by other institutions with participation by employees of the Institute for Tourism:
Destination Management
UHPA and 'Poduzetna Hrvatska' (USAID project to support the development of the private sector in the Croatian economy) organized a seminar on destination management. Sanda Čorak, D.Sc.. and Hrvoje Carić, M.Sc. gave lectures on ‘The status of destination management in Croatia’. So far, the seminar has been held in Zagreb and Vukovar.
