Assessment of Climate Risks and Adaptation Measures for Coastal Tourism: The Case of Zadar County

In the latest issue of Proceedings of the Institute for Scientific Research and Artistic Work in Bjelovar (Scopus), an original scientific article entitled “Assessment of Climate Risks with Proposed Adaptation Measures for Coastal Tourism to Climate Change – A Case Study of Zadar County” has been published.

The authors of the paper are Mira Zovko and Izidora Marković Vukadin from the Institute for Tourism, and Damjan Zovko from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb. The paper is available at: https://doi.org/10.21857/yl4okfk029

Based on hydrometeorological data, climate scenarios, and a participatory approach, the study assesses climate risks to tourism infrastructure, tourism services, and protected natural areas in Zadar County. The results indicate an increase in the level of climate risks under future climate conditions across all analysed areas, particularly in protected natural areas. In addition, the paper proposes adaptation measures to climate change and highlights the importance of systematic climate risk management in tourism, in line with the IPCC approach. The article was published as part of the internal scientific project of the Institute for Tourism, “Commitment”.
