Director of the Institute for Tourism, Dr. Damir Krešić, appeared on the main evening news programme of the Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT), where he commented on the results of this year’s tourist season, changes in tourist behaviour, and key challenges facing Croatian tourism.
He noted that, despite the lack of significant growth compared to last year, the tourist season can be considered successful. Among the current trends, he highlighted the increasing prevalence of last-minute bookings, more rational tourist spending, and more moderate price increases.
He also discussed the impact of climate change on tourism demand, opportunities to reduce seasonality, and the need to consider the economic, social, and environmental impacts of tourism development.
