Last Saturday, 10 October, we gathered once again in the beautiful natural surroundings of Lake Petnja on Dilj Mountain, this time together with members of the local community!
As part of the Interreg People Powered Tourism project, the Institute for Tourism, in cooperation with the Slavonski Brod – Posavina Area Tourist Board, organised a guided walk combining active outdoor recreation with elements of mindfulness, forest bathing and creative activities.
Led by therapist Aleksandra Balen, artist Lucija Lebić and members of the “Dilj gora” Mountaineering Society, participants had the opportunity to experience this familiar natural setting in a different way: to slow down, focus on their senses, connect with nature and themselves, and take part in short creative activities.
The walk is part of the pilot programme “Dilj through Nature and Community”, which we developed in collaboration with local stakeholders and first tested two weeks ago with our international project partners. We are particularly pleased that we were now able to offer the same experience to the local community!
One of the key objectives of the People Powered Tourism project is precisely to create multiple forms of value for local communities. We believe that tourism development should not focus exclusively on visitors, but also on improving residents’ quality of life. This includes enriching their everyday lives with new opportunities for active recreation, relaxation, socialising, and participation in cultural, artistic and creative activities.
This walk is just one step in that direction, and we look forward to future activities aimed at making such experiences more accessible to the local community.
Thank you to all participants for a wonderful time together, and to our collaborators who helped make this activity possible!
